Reliable & uncomplicated
The principle of heat it®
To relieve itching and pain, heat it® briefly warms the affected skin to around 51 °C. This heat pulse activates local nerve receptors, disrupting the way itch signals are processed. Research suggests that the brain receives fewer or altered signals – meaning the urge to scratch fades quickly.
This effect is based on a medically proven method known as local hyperthermia, which requires a short burst of heat that may feel slightly uncomfortable but is effective. It’s suitable for treating bites and stings from mosquitoes, horseflies, bees, and wasps.
As part of the clinical evaluation for medical device certification, Kamedi collaborated with Prof. Maurer from Charité Berlin. In June 2023, the team published the most comprehensive study to date on the effectiveness of heat-based insect bite treatment.
